IS10053 - Possible Messaging Impacts - Tropical Cyclone Alfred
Issue Number | IS10053 | Service Affected | |

Status | Resolved | ||
Description | Audata is warning of the potential for impacts to SMS message deliverability, both inbound and outbound, for Australian customers this week as a result of Tropical Cyclone Alfred. Tropical Cyclone Alfred is expected to make landfall in South East Queensland on Thursday evening / Friday morning, Australian Eastern Time. We understand the Queensland government has asked mobile carriers to "be ready" to facilitate the delivery of emergency-related messaging to affected communities, and it is possible this may result in non-emergency messaging taking lower priority. A large portion of Audata's Australian messaging services are routed through Telstra's exchange in Woolloongabba, QLD, and as such may be affected. We understand some of our customers rely on Audata Messaging to assist in important emergency broadcasting, and so we will be monitoring and working with our partners to minimise any impact. Any updates will be posted on the status page for this issue as they come to hand. |
