Triple M Network’s annual month-long celebration of Aussie music OzTober would normally culminate with an in-venue event featuring a line-up of great Australian bands performing live, in front of hundreds of Triple M winners.
In 2020 however, Triple M’s OzTober Garage Sessions looked very different. SCA (owner of the Triple M Network) took the live music experience directly to the living rooms of their fans, with weekly live performances delivered virtually across the month.
Triple M faced plenty of challenges to pull off this dramatic pivot, while still keeping the authentic OzTober Garage Sessions experience for their fans (who love their live music). For one, the volume of winners was much greater. Previously, awarding a large number of winners, delivering digital invitations, and managing communications, would have all taken a substantial amount of time and resource.
